SHOGUN
The shogun was the highest elite power in Japan. Witch over powered the emperor. The shogun ruled every last thing wile the emperor was a puppet. The shogun family would hold title of shogun until they were defeated and killed in battle by another family. This rarely happened because the shogun family was the general of armies witch was usually full of samurai’s.
DAIMYO
The Daimyo is the second elite power in Japan. The Daimyo is still a close relative to the power of the shogun but not quite. The Daimyo was usually a huge land owner and owned many things. The Daimyo was also protected by samurai’s when they traveled and the samurai had to make an oath of his life to protect him. Lastly the name Daimyo means noble class.
SAMURAI
The Samurai is a very high skilled warrior who protects the Daimyo and the shogun. The Samurai is the third elite power in the classes and usually is feared by most. The meaning of Samurai is “One Who Serves”. The Samurai’s weapon is usually the sword, but can also use pole weapons, daggers, bows, and chain weapons. Lastly the Samurai is possibly one of the mythical legends but clear research has proven it true.
MERCHANTS
The Merchants in Japan are your typical Merchants (sellers) her. During the shogun rule the Merchants were only aloud to sell at the port of Nagasaki. This made the Merchants very rich. The Merchants were mad because the shogun family was the ruler while they were doing all the work. This was very hard for the Merchants to fight back since they were not aloud to have weapons.
PEASANTS
The Peasants are the lowest group in the political classes. The Peasants we know to day are homeless people. But in Japan during the shoguns era they were the street cleaners, maids, and ect… In Japan the peasants wanted to be a higher class but the law was if you were born in a class you stay in that class. Later on Japan made its first constitution, and DIET became japans elected government.
